How To Renew Your Gas Safe Registration

Save time and money by renewing your Gas Safe registration online

Gas Safe registered businesses renew their registrations on an annual basis. You’ll need to renew before your registration expiry date so that you can continue to work on gas legally. If you're unsure when your renewal is due, you can check this on the front of your ID card.

When it’s time for your business to renew, you’ll receive a reminder from us via email or letter depending on how you registered/renewed last time. You will also see an alert once you log in to your account. You can renew your registration up to eight weeks before it’s due to expire and like an MOT, you will not lose any time from your 12-month registration – so why not tick it off the to-do-list early?

Our easy online registration process

Once you’ve logged into your account, if your business is due for renewal, you’ll see a 'Renew' option appear under the account management menu. You then have two options:

  1. Update registration details: You’ll need to select this option first if you’re looking to make any changes to your registration, including adding and removing engineers. If you need to change your trading title, or you have changed it recently, you can do this by signing into your account on our website.
  2. Make payment to renew: If all your details are up-to-date simply enter your payment details and renew.

Once your payment’s been processed, you’ll receive an email from us confirming that your registration has been renewed, and you should receive your new registration certificate and updated ID cards for all your engineers within the next 10-15 working days.

Your commitments upon renewing
By renewing your Gas Safe registration, you agree to continue to comply with the rules of registration and policies. You can find this information on our policies and on the quick links below:

In order to renew your registration you must have a valid core qualification – CCN1 or COCN1. You are responsible for ensuring that your qualifications are valid before you renew your registration and you must have up-to-date qualifications for the categories of work that you carry out. If no engineer assigned to your business has a core qualification, your registration will be archived.
